You can adjust it one way or the other to get you the extra few inches you need. It was easy to install and came with all the necessary pieces. Overall I really like it, but here are the few cons I've noticed. First, it's lower profile than I thought it would be; I had to use the spacers to move it out from the wall so I could plug in what I needed to. No big deal, but slightly annoying. Second, it tilts down towards you easily, but if you need to tilt it back to access the back of the television, it does not want to go. I had to mess around with it and apply pressure a bunch of different ways to get it to tilt backwards. Lastly, I needed to take it off the wall to mount a wireless device to the back of my TV. It was very difficult to unhook from the bracket on the wall, and I had to "muscle" it a little more than I would have liked to. It made me feel like I was going to drop the TV in the process. Like I said, I have these few small complaints, but overall I really like the bracket, it is solid for the price and well worth the investment.
